It is life-changing to be able to not only recognize but also fully comprehend the fact that we are each God’s favorite child. To be the one that He has chosen to be so highly favored is an incredible honor that many of us take for granted. To truly understand this concept and to take it to heart, it is important to look at what God’s Word has to say about it.

Ephesians 1:5-7 says, “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” This affirms the fact that God has made us knowingly and accordingly to His liking, accepted into the royal family, adopted and redeemed thru the blood of Jesus Christ. All that have chosen salvation are deeply loved and highly favored children of our Heavenly Father!
Psalm 5:12 speaks to the favor that God has for us, His children, saying, “For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.” Once we are born again we are justified and righteous in the eyes of our Father. We are covered by the blood, protected and favored. We can go into the battles we face with confidence knowing the victory is in Jesus Christ and the battle is won!

Isaiah 41:8-10 says, “But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” God has chosen us, and He is with us, giving provision and helping us, even when we don't see it. We can walk boldly, with confidence, knowing where our strength comes from!
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me so deeply and granting me Your favor. Help me to recognize my identity is in You so that I can begin to see myself as the apple of Your eye. Lord, it’s not the accolade of the world that I desire. I desire affirmation from You, to hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Ignite a burning fire deep within me that implores me to approach every battle or challenge as well as every opportunity with unwavering boldness and confidence. Keep me rooted and grounded in Your eternal truth, knowing I am Your favorite child, fully equipped with the Armor of God to confidently walk into every battle I face. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ©Rita Larson 1/6/2024
